About Us
Introduction from the Founder of Blue Springs Highland Cows
From an early age, I have had a deep passion and affection for animals. At just ten years old, I began breeding Mini Lop rabbits and Budgies. During high school, I actively participated in agricultural programs, dedicating my lunchtimes and recess to the care of farm animals. Concurrently, I showcased cattle, alpacas, and sheep at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
In Years 11 and 12, I pursued studies in primary industries and gained practical experience working alongside farmers in both the beef and dairy sectors. I often lightheartedly remarked to my parents that I must have been swapped at birth, as I was clearly destined to be raised on a farm.
The loss of my mother in 2024 was a profound challenge, particularly as a young mother myself. Nevertheless, I was determined that my daughter would be raised in an environment surrounded by animals, nature, and the simplicity of rural life. She has been my inspiration and motivation to make this dream a reality.
Nestled on our small farm in Stubbo, my highland cows bring me a sense of peace, and I sincerely hope they offer the same tranquility to everyone who visits our property. It is my wish that every guest experiences the joy, calm, and connection that I find daily in the company of these cows.
My hope is that Blue Springs Highland Cows can bring a smile to your face, just as they do for me.
With gratitude,
Nikki
